A photo essay on the effect of dementia on my mum. Audrey initially lived independently with some assistance after relocating from Hull to Somerset to be near family, but failing health and increased dementia necessitated her moving into residential care. During this period I photographed her most days, before and after work and weekends, recording intimate moments associated with effect of memory loss etc. This is a small selection of those moments that chart the decline of her health and mind, culminating in her death in 2020. These will be exhibited in 2026 during Dementia Week in May at Bridgwater Arts Centre in Somerset.
